The visual language is built around metaphors of the sea: navigation, anchors, waves — representing the journey through emotional turbulence toward resolution.

The entire graphic system was developed:
🎨 Hand-drawn illustrations
🧭 Custom-designed game board & cards
📘 Print-ready manuals and visual assets

Delicate, symbolic, and purposeful — every element was crafted to support clarity, empathy, and safe communication.

About the Project

An immersive, transformational game designed as a training simulator for mediators working with family conflicts. It provides a safe, structured environment to practice mediation techniques, explore emotional dynamics, and develop communication skills. Based on real-life scenarios and the official mediation procedure (inspired by Russian Federal Law 193-FZ), the game helps participants embody different roles, process emotions, and experiment with new relationship strategies.

Role

Entire visual concept and execution, including:

  • Developing the graphic identity from scratch

  • Hand-drawing all illustrations and icons

  • Designing the game board, card decks, notebook, and instruction booklet

  • Preparing the full layout and file set for professional print production

Design Process

The visual approach was built around the metaphor of a journey through emotional waters — with anchors, ships, and sea charts representing the process of navigating conflict.

  • A deep navy background anchors the visuals and supports emotional safety

  • Accent colors in soft red and white provide clarity, focus, and guidance

  • Hand-drawn illustrations create a warm, tactile, and symbolic feel

  • Clean, structured typography supports the procedural nature of mediation

  • All assets were prepared for high-resolution offset printing

Visual Assets Include

Game Board (step-by-step conflict resolution path)

  • Card Decks:

    • Family Situations

    • Roles

    • Emotions

    • Behavior Strategies

    • Resources

    • Conflict Triggers

    • Mediation Stages

    • Mediator Prompts

  • Mediator’s Notebook

  • Instruction Manual

  • Packaging layout elements

Outcome

200+ printed cards across 8 thematic decks

  • Modular game board with structured mediation stages

  • Notebook and visual aids for the mediator role

  • The game is used in workshops, therapy, and professional training

  • Received strong praise for both usability and visual clarity

Testimonial

"The collaboration on this project was inspiring and seamless. The visual language developed for the game captured not only its emotional depth, but also brought clarity and structure to a complex psychological process. Every illustration and design element — from the game board to the emotion cards — felt thoughtful, symbolic, and full of life."

"The result exceeded expectations: the design inspires trust, encourages reflection, and fosters safe communication. Professionals using the game consistently highlight how intuitive and aesthetically refined it is. We’re truly grateful for the care, precision, and creativity that went into bringing this important project to life."
